Inspiring Reads

My interior magazine habit might have reduced quite a bit since I discovered Pinterest and online magazines such as Rue and Lonny, but I still love nothing more than pouring over the pages of an home tour in a design book.
I’ve picked a few from my own shelves which would make great Christmas presents for anyone inspired by interiors.

Design Books

Old House, New Home is ideal for anyone living in an old property and has great examples of repurposed living areas.
– Holly Becker’s Decorate: 1000 Professional Design Ideas for Every Room in the House and Decorate Workshop: A Creative 8 Step Process for Transforming Your Home both have loads of examples of home tour and offers practical advice on decorating.
Domino: the Book of Decorating: A Room-by-Room Guide to Creating a Home That Makes You Happy has lots of annotated pages showing lots of different styles (and great for small space living too).
– Finally Design*Sponge at Home: A Guide to Inspiring Homes – and All the Tools You Need to Create Your Own is an extension of Grace Bonney’s fabulous blog and includes step by step DIY’s.

Though all the books have the Fairly Light seal of approval, I’ve also heard the following come highy recommended too! Interior Books

– Nate Berkus’ The Things That Matter
– Clare Nolan’s Making a House Your Home
Creative Walls by Geraldine James

Hope this post has inspired you to add a few books to your Christmas list! Would love to know if you have any recommendations for any interior design books x
