I’m probably fair to say I have an unhealthy obsession with blackboards. When I discovered chalkboard paint many years ago in B&Q I felt like all my Christmas’ had come at once. I spent hours making custom chalkboards for our wedding and they’ve been known to frequent our party photobooth many a time.
As I decked out our Dining Room for Christmas last weekend, I realised that a winter quote blackboard would make a lovely addition to the empty space in our fireplace.
I picked up the frame for 50p from a local car boot sale and used blackboard paint to cover a piece of MDF. Then I followed the steps below to create a very quick chalkboard.
Yes, it’s a little rough around the edges, but it was a quick and easy DIY and definitely one to try at home!
