Inspiration: A Nursery fit for a Princess

A very dear friend of mine recently announced that she’s expecting a beautiful baby girl in the Autumn. As it’s the year of the Royal birth, I’ve wasted no time whipping up a little inspiration board for Prince George’s future wife. I was inspired by a whole lot of pinning that the mummy-to-be had been doing and picked up on a theme of glistening gold, cool white and a hint of blush pink. The result a soft and modern palette that is perfect for any little Princess.

On my search for suitable images across, I can came across this little stunner via Les Enfants du Marais.girls_room I couldn’t help but think that this would be a beautiful progression for a little girl moving from cot to bed and love that it echoes the colour scheme of the inspiration board with a more rustic feel.

It’s lovely to be back! Let me know if you’ve been chatting through decor with any of your friends recently too.

Eventful: Roll up for a Spectacular Spectacular!

After planning my Wedding back in 2010, I got the bug for adding a bit of panache to any event and no party has ever been the same since! With a family birthday party just around the corner, my Sister (one half of stationery supremo, Bonny & Clyde) and I have got to work planning a ‘Circus Spectacular’. Here’s the moodboard so you can get the gist…Circus Spectacular Moodboard

With just eleven days to pull together this bash, we’re pooling the resources and getting our hands dirty to create an event to remember. On its way to my door are lengths of red and white fabric, glitzy gold spray paint and reels of circus tickets. This weekend will be spent crafting a kissing booth and blackboard menus to plant in the festoon lit garden whilst no doubt there’s a bit of signage being created at Bonny & Clyde HQ. Keep your fingers crossed that my photobooth props make an appearance from an eBay seller and that we have enough helium to make a statement with balloons in the Big Top!

Watch out for updates on Instagram over the weekend!

Inspiration: Office Styling

As I type, Mr C is outside with a saw making me some rather fabulous oak shelves. This can only mean one thing – the office is on its way!Office StylingImage sources:: Stacked Books | Grey Desk | Pink Washi Tape | Pink Pencils | Stacked Boxes | Ribbon Spools | Anthropologie Mug | Anglepoise Lamp | Kraft Clipboard

As the office area is at the back of the lounge, I want it to blend in rather than stick out like a sore thumb and so I’m extending the greyish blue, pink and white colour scheme that’s currently in the living room. I’m hoping it will all turn out something along the lines of the moodboard above.

I’m planning on stacking a load of my interiors books, stashing my craft supplies into boxes and downsizing my mega sized inspiration board to a mini clipboard version. On my wish list is an Anglepoise Lamp, and I’ll be certifying myself as a real life proper blogger with an Anthropologie Monogram Mug!

Am hoping to be done very soon so fingers crossed they’ll be photos to follow next week. Have you created an office out of wasted space?

Moodboard: Feminine Glamour

After all that masculinity in last month’s moodboard post, I’ve got the ultimate antidote for you this morning. Today I’m sharing my inspiration board for the second bedroom. Feminine glamour Image sources:: White Iron Bed | Black and White Chevron Wallpaper | Chandelier | Oh La La Print | White Dressing Table | Peonies | Black & White Striped Cushion | Glitter Ball and Pink Side Tables | Middleton Pink Paint | White Chiffon Paint |  Replica Louis Ghost Chair | Black and White Polka Dot Wallpaper | Organised Storage

This room acts as a dressing room during the week, doubling up as a guest bedroom at the weekend. As it’s purely my domain from Monday to Friday, I get to make this room as girlie and glamorous as possible. I’ve chosen a base palette of black and white and then plan to add blush pink tones to soften up the monochrome.

As I mentioned last week, I adore the Faire Frou Frou Lingerie store decor and have taken inspiration from the fairlytale colour scheme, antique painted furniture and feminine touches. I’m hoping to create a decadent (some might say over-the-top) interior so that I can escape to a Parisian boudoir for ten minutes in the morning.

Hope you like!

Moodboard: Mint Condition

Our very intense blue bathroom underwent quite a transformation earlier this year.
In order to get Mr C on-side, I created a moodboard to get across the atmosphere I wanted to create. He’s the main Painter in our house and sometimes needs convincing of my master plans!

I was keen to create a serene, elegant and calm space and so opted for a calming  palette of white, mint and grey.
Mint can be a tricky colour to use – it seemed to be THE colour for Spring/Summer 12 fashion and it popped up many a time in my pinterest feed, but in an interior space I was worried it will feel a little nursery-esque.
Bath Progress
As you can see from the progress shots, we decided to just introduce mint to the lovely free-standing bath. Will keep you updated with the ‘after’ shots soon including the green accessories.

How about you, have you had any dalliances with mint in your home? x
